The Israel '98 International Jury is pleased to present its report.

The Organising Committee is to be congratulated on assembling such a magnificent array of philatelic material in both the competitive and non-competitive classes.

We wish to warmly thank all the invited participants in the Court of Honour who have provided such an outstanding display. In particular we would like to note the enormous interest created by the items of the Palestine Mandate period from the collections of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the British Library, London and the National Postal Museum, London.

Furthermore, we thank the Museum of Communication, Berne, Switzerland, the International Olympic Committee, the Postal and Philatelic Museum, Israel and all the individuals who contributed such magnificent material to the Court of Honour and Invited Exhibit areas.

The number of high awards in all the competitive classes is a reflection of the overall standard of the exhibits assessed by the Jury. in accord with FIP Regulations, some exhibits have had to be placed out of competition, transferred to other classes or downgraded and these are listed at the end of the awards list.

The Jury wishes to express its grateful thanks to the Expert Group and the Organising Committee of Israel '98 for providing their support to the work of the Jury.
